The team at Resurrection Distillery have battled the prickly rosehip and scaled many a wilding pine tree, to be able to conjure this zesty and refreshing summer gin. They think it is the right mix to celebrate the return of the warmer months. With pine, rosehip, and kaffir lime notes, we are almost certain it will help ward off scurvy.
The base spirit is made exclusively from barley from the Canterbury Plains, and they proudly produce this gin from scratch. It is triple distilled before adding the botanicals.
Resurrection Distillery was the brainchild of Matt Gunn. He roped in his mate Cody Thyne who caught the distilling bug, then they added Richard Brown for a touch of suave. The site of the distillery used to be Matt's previous venture - Ben Ohau Road Cheese. The Cheese Room has been converted into the Mash Room, and the still is in a second shipping container. Out of the ashes of cheese, a distillery rose - Resurrection Distillery.
