Description
Wild-foraged botanicals from Tōtaranui, in the Abel Tasman National Park, were steeped three times to create this clean, nuanced, dry gin. Summer lilac nectar imparts subtle notes of white honey, contrasted against the savoury umami of karengo. Combined with grapefruit, yarrow, rimu and tarata, this limited-edition gin speaks of lush native forest, salt water and sunshine.

2021 marked our inaugural camping trip to the legendary DOC grounds at Tōtaranui. We were immediately impressed by the botanicals grown in the region. An abundance of summer lilac was the initial inspiration along with the incredible time spent with family and friends. This is a very special gin indeed.

ELSEWHERE is a two-person team dedicated to crafting very small batches of premium gin. Mark, who is also an experienced winemaker, distils the gin and Zoë looks after design, accounts and marketing. They usually forage for botanicals together – often while on holiday enjoying the natural environment with their family and friends – so they have a personal connection to the places on each label. This makes their gin totally unique and unlike anything else.

In capturing the taste and aroma of unique places, ELSEWHERE gin follows the winemaking concept of terroir. While they go back to their favourite places to gather botanicals to make further batches, they will express the character of different seasons and years, much like vintage wine. They will also make gins from new places they discover that really inspire them.
